We laugh about the day we met in Chelsea, London at my mews house. I showed David my IM International stationary with various cities at the top of the letterhead: London, Paris, and Rome, New York. David was so impressed that there were IM offices in all those cities. We were both very young and David thought that I had created such as amazing empire in my early 20’s. I quickly explained that “No, these offices in these cities did not exist… yet.” Then I very quickly added, “But we’ll have them very soon.” And the fact is we did!! We talked about the difference between New York and London in, let’s say, 1967. We agreed that in New York females were “women”, whereas in London we were “girls” – even if we were 25 or 30. We all had fashion fun. We took chances, tried different looks – hot pants, micro-mini skirts. It was a new fad every week – and that is why London was so exciting in the late 60’s.
